Surface Finishes

Pick Your Finish

Every finish has its own character, texture, and ideal use case. We’ll walk you through the options and help you choose what suits your home, your budget, and how you’ll use the space.

Popular

Tauranga Concrete Driveways

Natural stone and pebbles are revealed at the surface, creating a textured, slip-resistant finish with real visual depth. It ages beautifully and suits both modern and traditional homes.

Decorative

Stamped & Patterned

Concrete is pressed with moulds while still wet to create the look of tiles, cobblestones, slate, or brick — at a fraction of the cost and with far greater durability than the real thing.

Bold Colour

Coloured Concrete

Iron oxide pigments are added to the mix before pouring, giving you a consistent, through-colour result. Earthy tones, warm greys, charcoal, terracotta — we work with a full palette to suit your home’s style.

Decorative

Plain Brushed

A broom-textured finish that’s clean, practical, and timeless. It’s the most affordable option and works beautifully for paths, driveways, and patios where the surrounding landscaping does the talking.

How We Work

Tauranga Patio Installation Process

Our Patio Process

01

Site Assessment

We visit your property to understand the space, check drainage, assess the existing ground, and discuss layout and finish options with you in person.

02

Final Price Agreement

We’ll provide a clear layout suggestion and a written, fixed-price quote. No vague estimates — you know exactly what you’re getting and what it costs.

03

Excavation and Base

We excavate to the right depth and compact a crushed gravel sub-base. This is the foundation that prevents cracking, settlement, and drainage problems.

04

Forming Steel

Timber forms are set to the correct level and slope. Steel reinforcement mesh is laid to add tensile strength and prevent cracking under load or movement.

05

Pour and Finish

We apply curing compound or blankets and advise on the 7-day light-use and 28-day full-cure timeline. We leave your site clean and talk you through aftercare.

06

Curing and Handover

We apply curing compound or blankets and advise on the 7-day light-use and 28-day full-cure timeline. We leave your site clean and talk you through aftercare.

Our Difference

Design & Pour All in One.

Most concreters will pour what you ask them to. We go further — helping you figure out exactly what to ask for in the first place.

Our all-in-one service means you’re never left coordinating between a designer and a contractor. We bridge that gap, saving you time and making sure the final result actually matches what you had in mind.

After giving you a project, we can agree on a date for a site visit.

Layout, finish, drainage, and sizing — we guide you through the options.

One team handles everything through to the final cure and handover.

Exposed aggregate, stamped, coloured, broomed — we offer a wide range of finishes to match your home’s aesthetic.

Why It Matters

No Guesswork No Suprise

Patios that don’t work usually fail at the planning stage — the wrong size, poor drainage, a finish that looks different in sunlight, or a layout that doesn’t match how people actually move through the space.

Because we handle design and installation together, we catch these issues before the concrete goes down, not after. We’ve poured hundreds of outdoor slabs across Tauranga and we know what works — and what looks good in photos but fails in real life.

The result? A patio that feels like it was always meant to be there. Proportioned correctly, draining properly, finished beautifully — and built to handle everything the Bay of Plenty weather throws at it for years to come.

PATIO FAQs

Our Patio Process

What are brick stones?

Paving bricks are manufactured to be laid flat on the ground.  Once they are installed on the ground, they will stay there for 10 to 20 years with very little maintenance.  Paving bricks can withstand hot and cold temperatures, making them a great option for pathways and driveways in residential properties.

How do I maintain the patio slabs?

Concrete patios are very low-maintenance. A regular hose-down is usually all that’s needed. We recommend sealing exposed aggregate and decorative finishes every few years to protect colour and surface. We’ll give you specific aftercare guidance at handover.

What are patio slabs and their advantages?

Patio slabs are made of concrete materials cut into slabs and installed on driveways and patios without the use of mortar. Usually, a patio slab is 4 inches thick with a compressive strength of 3000 psi.

Can you pour over existing concrete?

Sometimes — it depends on the condition and thickness of the existing slab. If it’s structurally sound and bonded correctly, an overlay or topping can work. In many cases, removing and starting fresh gives a better long-term result. We’ll assess this on-site and give you an honest recommendation.
