Stamped Concrete
Decorative stamped concrete for driveways, patios and pathways across Tauranga — the look of stone, brick or timber with the strength of a single poured slab.
Tauranga
Stamped concrete is one of the simplest ways to add texture, pattern and colour to a plain slab without paying for natural stone or clay pavers. Our stamped concrete services in Tauranga give driveways, patios and pathways the look of slate, cobblestone, brick or timber, while keeping the strength and low maintenance of a single poured surface.
Each pattern is pressed into the concrete while it's still workable, then coloured and sealed to protect the finish from everyday wear. Because there are no individual pavers to shift, sink or grow weeds between, a stamped surface holds its good looks for years with only occasional resealing.
Whether you're planning a new driveway with real stone character or a decorative patio and pool surround, we help you choose a pattern, colour and texture that suits your home and budget. We also advise on borders, banding and slip-rated sealers so the finished surface performs as well as it looks, season after season.
Our Services
From driveways to pool surrounds, we install stamped concrete across a wide range of patterns, colours and applications.
Choose from ashlar slate, cobblestone, brick herringbone, timber plank and random stone patterns to suit your home's style.
Colour can be mixed through the slab or applied as a surface hardener, giving you a wide palette of natural, earthy or bold tones.
A stamped driveway makes a strong first impression, combining decorative appeal with the durability concrete driveways are known for.
Textured, sealed finishes provide better grip around pools and outdoor entertaining areas without sacrificing on style.
A quality sealer locks in colour, resists staining and makes everyday cleaning simple, keeping your stamped concrete looking new.
Design
Choosing the right stamped concrete design comes down to matching pattern and colour to your home's architecture and how the space will be used. A large, simple pattern like ashlar slate often suits modern homes, while cobblestone or brick patterns complement more traditional properties.
For pool surrounds and outdoor living areas, we also factor in slip resistance, recommending finer textures and slip-rated sealers so the surface looks great and stays safe when wet.
Questions
Quick answers before you book a site visit.
Stamped concrete typically costs more than plain concrete because of the extra labour involved in colouring, stamping and sealing, but it remains far more affordable than natural stone or clay pavers while offering a similar look.
It can be if left with a smooth sealer, which is why we recommend a slip-rated or matte sealer for driveways, pool surrounds and other areas that get wet regularly.
Stamping has to be done while the concrete is still workable, so it isn't possible over an existing cured slab. In most cases the existing surface would need to be removed and a new slab poured, or a stampable overlay used where the base is in good condition.
With a quality sealer and resealing every two to three years, a stamped concrete surface can hold its colour and texture for 20 years or more.
Stamped concrete can crack for the same reasons any concrete can — ground movement, poor base preparation or missing control joints — which is why correct site preparation and joint placement are built into every job we do.
